What’s Your Big Idea?

As the Creative Director & Producer for YouTube Vidcon in June 2017, I played a pivotal role in conceptualizing and executing a creative booth designed to engage YouTubers and their audiences. This cross-functional effort involved collaborating with Shopify's affiliate marketing team to drive awareness and demand for YouTubers to establish brands on Shopify and sell to their existing audiences.

Our booth, strategically positioned in the main hall of exhibitors, invited attendees to share their big ideas and collaborate with Shopify 'Idea Coaches' to kickstart their entrepreneurial journey. The interactive space, featuring plexiglass walls, floors, furniture, and even staff uniforms as canvases, transformed over the two-day event as kids of all ages contributed their artistic flair.

Amidst a bustling show floor filled with activations, our booth stood out, garnering praise from trending YouTube personalities, event organizers, and media mentions. Leading the design team, I oversaw the creation of motion design, landing pages, event print materials, environmental design and fabrication, and interactive video elements. The success of this booth concept led to its replication at two additional trade events, showcasing its effectiveness. Furthermore, its modular and reusable design underscored our commitment to sustainability, reducing waste and costs for future trade events.
